Raytown C-2 School District Mission & Vision:
Effective mission and vision statements are my specialty. As a Level III certified trainer of the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and the educational counterpart, Leader in Me, I have trained hundreds of people to write motivating and inspiring personal and professional mission and vision statements.
What's a Vision?
Imagine you achieved every dream and goal you ever imagined for your school, self, or organization. What would that look like? That's your vision! If you ever actually achieve the vision, then it's time for a new vision!
What's a Mission?
A mission is the way you go about achieving your vision. It describes habits and actions you'll do with fidelity in order to get closer to the vision. What primary things are you going to do to achieve your vision? That's your mission!
What's the Concern?
It seems like the current Vision is partly a Mission and vice versa.
"Providing a courteous, welcoming, and inclusive culture for all" should be listed within the Mission Statement; not the Vision Statement.
"Reach their full potential and realize meaningful and success lives" should be lived within the Vision Statement; not the Mission Statement.
My Suggestion:
Redo both the mission and the vision. Incorporate feedback from all levels of the Raytown C-2 school district and its community.

In life, bloom wherever they plant me.
Be water for those who think they can't be
A flower, a cactus, or a mighty mighty oak.
They can be whatever; I can be their water.
